Q70　音楽が担う役割は今後、どう変化していくと思われますか？ 「パッケージが衰退して、商品としての音楽の存続基盤が崩壊しつつありますよね。Youtubeやニコ動で見られるわけだから、若い子は音楽にお金を払わない。それは当たり前だと思うんですよ、僕だってそうするだろうし。この状況が進んでいくと、レコードが発売される以前の状態に戻るんじゃないですか？　音楽でお金を稼ぐには、実演しかないという。昔のダンスパーティーとか、生演奏で踊るっていうことが盛んになってくるかもしれない。そういう意味では、ダンスと音楽が不可分になっている現状は、当然の結果でしょうね。まぁ、もう少し見ていかないと、最終的な結論はわかりませんが」 — 山下達郎 インタビュー／＠ぴあ (via mitaimon)
